Youree Jong Choi (she/her) is a cultural worker with over a decade of fundraising experience in the not-for-profit arts sector. As a Project Manager specializing in institutional giving, Youree is responsible for developing, managing, and executing strategy for clients, including advising on funding opportunities and prospects. Guided by a collaborative spirit, she is passionate about serving organizations that invest in strengthening the cultural landscape of NYC through accessibility and community-centered outreach. She has proven success securing resources for these critical organizations, including, recently, more than $1.3M in new and expanded funding for a single organization in one fiscal year.
Prior to joining Advance NYC, she was the Director of Institutional Giving and Government Relations at New York Theatre Workshop. She formally began her career as an intern at The Wooster Group followed by The Chocolate Factory Theater, where she had her hand in a variety of roles as the House Manager and Executive Assistant. Youree grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Bowdoin College. She is an occasional performer, a novice caterer, and a soccer-playing hobbyist.
