Makayla Salas

Project Associate

 

Makayla Salas (she/her) is an Institutional Project Associate at Advance NYC, assisting with grant writing, research, and meeting and calendar management for a diverse portfolio of nonprofits. She takes an active role in understanding what is unique about and important to each client, and values the opportunity to contribute to a variety of important missions. 

Prior to joining Advance NYC, Makayla served as the Development Assistant for Ars Nova and the Communications Coordinator for Seward Park Conservancy, where she gained experience in grants management, funder communications, individual giving campaigns, special events, and more. She graduated cum laude from the University of Vermont and holds a BA in both Philosophy and Political Science. While earning her degree, she served as the Writing Manager for her on-campus sustainability group, Eco-Reps, and interned for the United States Senate. 

In her free time, she enjoys photographing the DIY music scene, volunteering at her community garden, and visiting museums.
