Christina Cooke

Project Manager

Christina Cooke (she/her) is a Project Manager in General Development specializing in capital campaign execution, major donor cultivation, annual and special appeal strategy, board management, and all areas of development administration. During her tenure at Advance NYC, Christina has successfully collaborated with a broad range of cultural, artistic, and educational organizations that endeavor toward a more expansive world through art, advocacy, historical preservation, and community development.

Prior to joining the team, Christina was an adjunct professor in English and Creative Writing at institutions in the U.S. and Canada. She brings an acute understanding of language to her work at Advance, often working with clients to strengthen or revamp their institutional messaging from the ground up. As a result, Christina has been instrumental in crafting appeals that broadcast an organization’s mission in unique and exciting ways – resulting in annual increases in new donor dollars as high as 54%.

Christina holds a Master of Arts from the University of New Brunswick as well as a Master of Fine Arts from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. In addition to her work at Advance, Christina maintains an active writing practice in fiction and nonfiction. Her debut novel BROUGHTUPSY was published in the U.S. and Canada in January 2024.
